Who’s Hiring Wholesale AEs, and Where…

By
- Aug 09

As promised, my post on which wholesale lenders are hiring account executives right now, and where they are hiring.  It has been a bit of a moving target, to be honest.  This list is not meant to be a complete and exhaustive list of  job postings.  Nor is this an endorsement of the lenders, their products or comp plans.    These are simply the results of my own research utilizing some of the most popular job boards and groups on professional networking sites:

A great website for mortgage industry job seekers in general is www.mortgageboard.net, you can search by   job title and state.   Besides wholesale sales positions you will find positions in correspondent sales,  wholesale operations, retail mortgage originators, title and escrow jobs and banking positions.  The site allows you to create a profile, upload your resume, and it will send you job postings according to your selected criteria.

As mentioned in an earlier post of mine, LinkedIn is THE place to network if you are job seeking; create a profile and join the mortgage related groups.  Many of the groups have a specific board for job postings, but many just allow members to post in the general discussion.  I have also seen job seekers post in the discussion area with some good success.  The key is to be short, to the point and above all professional. You can also “follow” companies, and when they post positions you will receive an alert.

Don’t forget to utilize mortgage industry recruiters.  You can find and connect with them on LinkedIn, some of them have groups which you can join.  You can also follow some of them on Twitter, where you can catch their latest “tweets”  on hot new positions.

If all else fails, go directly to the website of  a lender.  You want to be sure that they are licensed in your state, then check and see if they have a link to a careers page or a “contact us” link.  Some  put  links to their Facebook page on their sites, so friend them.  And I have seen some on Twitter, and they “tweet” job postings, follow them.  Keeping informed through industry magazines and websites can get you connected to new lenders ahead of the pack, which could result in a possible first shot at an opportunity.

Many thanks to those who responded to my inquiries and provided email addresses and updated information.

Best of luck to all  job seekers!

  2. Robin Medecke says:

Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, OH appears to be one of the top temp-to and direct-hire recruiters for mortgage personnel (both Retail & Wholesale) in the Southwestern Ohio regional area based on CareerBuilder ads. Their openings are also listed by numerous other employment agencies recruiting on their behalf – there may be duplicate listings on job hunting web sites. Do a quick check so you don’t waste your time; research and ask questions.

  3. Thanks Robin! Great point and good info.

I’ve been out of wholesale for a couple years. What is the typical wholesale comp plan out there or at least what is the range you are hearing? What does the “average” A.E. earn per year in today’s market wholesaling conforming/FHA loans? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

  5. Hello Chris,
The comp plans are not much different as far as bps paid on conforming/fha; the difference is the volume. Salaries are not typically offered, however some lenders have a “start up” compensation plan with increased bps. Expenses are generally based on production. Good luck!!

  6. I will immediately grab your rss as I can not in finding your e-mail subscription link or e-newsletter service. Do you have any? Kindly let me know in order that I may subscribe. Thanks.
